No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before Learners register for this Integrated Training and Assessment. • This is not appropriate for Learners under the age of sixteen. • It is strongly recommended that operators hold, as a minimum, a current Emergency First Aid Certificate. • Learners must be able to read and interpret information provided in English • Learners must be physically fit and be able to carry out the tasks in the course program. This is a hands-on course that delivers both practical skills and health and safety guidance. We keep the training groups small so that you'll receive plenty of individual attention from our experienced instructors throughout the process. This course will give you the skills to carry out chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting timber using a chainsaw. The finer details. Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting Timber using a Chainsaw Integrated Training and Assessment has two power source pathways: • Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting Timber using a Chainsaw (Liquid Fuel Powered) • Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting timber using a Chainsaw (Battery-Powered). Who should attend? > Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA) An ITA course is generally appropriate for lower risk activities. This typically includes occasional or personal use, straightforward ground-based tasks, and work with a limited scope and level of risk. In these circumstances, training and assessment are combined into one integrated course. What will be covered? Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting Timber using a Chainsaw • Introduction • Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting timber safety and the law • Carrying out a risk assessment • Maintaining the cutting components of a chainsaw • Reassembling the chainsaw and final maintenance checks • Liquid fuel-powered chainsaw maintenance and/or • Battery-powered chainsaw maintenance • PPE specific to cross-cutting timber using a chainsaw • Occupational health and safety • Operator environmental responsibility • The safety features of a chainsaw • Types of chainsaws • Cross-cutting timber using a chainsaw • Moving and stacking timber and clearance of the worksite • Fuel and oil for liquid fuel-powered chainsaws • The starting process for liquid fuel-powered chainsaws • Post work care of liquid fuel-powered equipment and/or • Batteries and oil for battery-powered chainsaws • The starting process for battery-powered chainsaws • Post work care of battery-powered equipment • Conclusion.
