Description
This training course aims to give trainees the knowledge, understanding and basic skills required for the safe operation of telescopic handlers. It introduces trainees to maneuvering the machine, travelling both laden and unladen, and carrying out lifting, placing and transporting operations safely and efficiently in a range of workplace environments. Trainees will cover daily pre-use inspections, refueling procedures, safe load handling techniques, and the hazards and risks associated with telehandler operations, including stability, load charts, ground conditions, visibility, the use of attachments, and working in proximity to people, plant, and structures. The course also includes safe systems of work and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation. The length of training may vary depending on the objectives covered, the ratio of trainee to instructor, and the ability and previous experience of the trainees. The delivery of training includes a combination of theoretical instruction and practical exercises.
